Amanda has lived in Dayton for over 30 years. She was weaned on the sounds of jazz as far back as she can remember. "My father played nothing but jazz (and salsa) at home. We were not allowed to play any other music styles on his stereo!" I learned to play the flute in sixth grade, and wanted to be the next Bobbi Humphrey in the world of jazz! But alas, that was not to be.
Currently, Amanda is an Associate Professor at Sinclair Community College. She teaches graphic and digital design. She continues to do freelance work for both profit and non-profit organizations.Amanda supports many art organizations in the Dayton area, including Culture Work Arts Fund. She has served on various boards in the community, including the Dayton Playhouse and Dayton Visual Arts Center.
"It’s been a joy being able to host Jazz Beat." Jazz has always been a part of me. Keep your dial on 89.5 FM, where we play jazz all the time!
